Daytona Beach fishing 4-cast and charter report:

Daytona Beach area offshore: Ponce Inlet-The sea conditions are going to be a little sporty over the next day or so Offshore of Daytona Beach, but once they subside King mackerel should be possible on the reefs in the 80 to 90-foot depths. Rapala lures, sea witch/strip combos and medium sized silver spoons can work if anglers don’t feel like slow trolling with live or frozen baits on a wire stinger rig.  Daytona anglers should find Vermillion snapper, grey trigger fish, and possibly cobia on these same structures.  Use baits like squid, sardines, and small grunts.

Daytona Beach area Inshore: Scattered redfish, black drum, and even a sheepshead or two are possible around the Ponce inlet jetties this week. Live shrimp will be the best bait but cut crab or mullet will work for the black and red drum too. The convict stripe sheephead will take small fiddler crabs or sand fleas as readily as the shrimp on most days.  Whiting and flounder may also hit live shrimp on bottom rigs on the incoming tide phases around the Daytona area. South of Daytona in the Mosquito Lagoon there are redfish and trout holding around oyster bars and drop offs where baitfish are congregating. The area around Bissett Bay and Orange Island is probably one of the more consistent right now for these two species. Most of the water south of Daytona all the way down to Titusville are holding large black drum.  Thes fish are strong fighters and make for great pictures because they are ranging from 15 to 30 pounds on most days.

Until next time….Catch a Memory!!!
